Kathryn O'Shea-Evans writes about design, travel, and food from her home base in Colorado's Front Range. Her work has been published in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Architectural Digest and numerous other publications; click here for a perpetually outdated list of her favorite stories. She is the author of Horse Country (May 2026, Gibbs Smith); Merry & Chic: Your Most Dazzling Christmas Ever (August 2025, Gibbs Smith) and Alpine Style (September 2024, Gibbs Smith), an Anthropologie “top rated” book. O’Shea-Evans has also co-authored or ghostwritten more than a dozen books for Rizzoli New York, Abrams, Gibbs Smith, and Monacelli, including LODGE: An Indoorsy Tour of America’s National Parks (April 2023) and Mark D. Sikes’ More Beautiful and Forever Beautiful.
Kathryn is a former senior editor at the Hearst Design Group and associate editor at Travel + Leisure. She has appeared as a guest lifestyle expert on The Today Show, The Meredith Vieira Show, The Travel Channel, CBS, The Weather Channel, Fox & Friends, and MSNBC.
Kathryn holds a master’s in journalism from Harvard University’s Extension School. She is a member of the Rocky Mountain Harvard University Club, the Denver Women’s Press Club (founded in 1898), and a certified Weeki Wachee mermaid. For many years, Kathryn was a magazine journalism instructor at the Columbia Publishing Course, at Columbia University's School of Journalism.
A devoted philanthropist, she is a member of the Leadership Circle of Save the Children.
